Spatial correlation in indoor MIMO channels
This paper presents the analysis of spatial correlation in MIMO channels, calculated from data measured in office environments at 5.2GHz. Results are compared with those from channels generated using a stochastic MIMO channel model and the effect of different comparison metrics is shown. The suitability of the stochastic model under different propagation conditions is also investigated.
متن کاملPhase modeling of indoor radio propagation channels
Two models for generating phase of individual multipath components in an indoor environment, partly developed in [1], have been studied in detail. In the deterministic phase increment model (model I), phase of each multipath component is updated deterministically using several independent random scatterers. In the random phase increment model (model II), phase of each multipath component is upd...
متن کاملTransmit Antenna Correlation in Spatial Multiplexing Systems
In this letter we present a transmit antenna correlation in spatial multiplexing systems with channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) correlated channel. Indeed, high correlation degrades system capacity and performance. Most related work has thus far considered in the statistical channel model such as Kronecker model with an approximate To...
متن کاملAntenna Subset Selection in Measured Indoor Channels
Antenna subset selection can greatly reduce the implementation complexity of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems while retaining most of their benefits. This paper investigates the diversity gain and capacity of such systems in wireless personal area networks. Considered scenarios include both the communication between access point to a laptop, and between two hand held devices. We an...
متن کاملAntenna spacing in MIMO indoor channels
We study the relation between antenna spacing and capacity of MIMO channels for indoor environments using a ray tracing program. It has been confirmed also by measurements that in rich scattering environments an antenna spacing below 0.5λ is sufficient to reach nearly the full capacity predicted for multiple-antenna arrays in ideal and uncorrelated Rayleigh fading channels.
